PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O Lord, we confess to you that all too often we allow our fears to consume us. We
fall victim to the whispers of our enemies who tell us you have abandoned us; that
you are not there for us. We depend upon our own wisdom, our own resources,
our own devices and forget that you are always present and willing and wanting to
come to our aid. We do it ourselves and then, when we fail, we blame you. Forgive
us for our foolish shortsightedness. Open our eyes to remind us of your presence
among us, not just in this place, but in our every walk of life. Help us to walk hand
in hand with you each and every day, for we ask this in the name of the One who
promised to never leave us or forsake us. Amen.
