L: But some who are waiting will not be ready when God appears;
P: Some of us may fail to be prepared.
L: Why do you wait, when you know the time approaches?
P: It hasn’t happened yet, there is still time.
L: But that day or that hour no one knows
P: We have been challenged and been warned to be prepared.

PRAYER (in unison)
Almighty God, we tell ourselves we are ready to come into your presence when the fact
is, many of us are unprepared to meet you. We know the time of that meeting is hidden
from us so we will live our lives prepared for our judgment, yet we continue to live as
though that time will never come. Our meeting is just around the corner; it will be here in
the blink of an eye. Help us to constantly seek you, to be perfected in you, to become
righteous. Help us to always be ready, for we know not the time when we will meet face
to face. Amen.
